We recently collaborated with Stockland Shopping Centre for Education Week. We gave eleven schools in the Shellharbour region and three schools in the Nowra region a surfboard that we had saved from landfill and helped them transform these boards into stunning pieces of art.
This collaboration showcased the importance of recycling and creativity, all while engaging the local community.
We encourage students to explore their creativity and artistic skills. The results were remarkable, as surfboards that were once on the way to the tip were now transformed into works of art.
The transformed surfboards were displayed at Stockland Shopping Centres. Visitors could view these stunning artworks up close and vote for their favourite design. The winner of this competition received a $200 voucher for their school.
The Forster region didn't miss out, while the Illawarra region got busy on recycled surfboards. They decided to pivot in a different direction for Education Week and got creative on some Skateboard decks. Three schools received three skateboard decks, each with the same concept of getting creative.
We want to thank Stocklands once again for the opportunity to bring our initiative to the local schools and community.
As you know, we are on a mission to rescue 100 old surfboards from their fate in landfills and repurpose them. After this collaboration, we are now at 50 surfboards.
